GETTING STARTED

There are two easy ways to connect with us.

You can simply click on the timetable page and book into your desired class, or download the MINDBODY app on your mobile phoneFrom there you can set yourself up with a MINDBODY account, choose a class and buy your intro pass.

Alternatively you can come to the studio 15 minutes before any scheduled class and we can set you up with an account and a pass.

VISITING US FOR THE FIRST TIME?

DO I NEED TO BRING A MAT? Up to you! We have good quality, 5mm yoga mats available in studio, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. We sanitise all mats after class with eucalyptus spray and cloths. There are designated areas for mats which belong to people, and those which are available to borrow. When you arrive in studio, ask the teacher for clarification about which ones to grab.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Only Lululemon allowed. JUST KIDDING. Feel free to wear whatever you feel most comfortable moving in. Light-weight, stretchy clothing is recommended. Shoes or socks are not required, and most students choose to go barefoot. Be comfortable, and make sure you are free to move. Remember, it's less about how you look, and much more about how you feel!

DO I NEED TO BOOK ONLINE? Yes, booking online is important, as is cancelling out of a class if you’re no longer able to attend. All classes have a 5 hour cancellation period so that those waitlisted have ample time to sign up for class. We recommend booking in ahead of class to ensure there is space. We encourage you to arrive 5-10 minutes before the class.

**The door will be closed and locked at precisely class start time to ensure the people who arrive on time are able to fully relax and ease into the time they’ve carved out for themselves.

WHAT SHOULD I EAT OR DRINK BEFORE ATTENDING A CLASS? Our recommendation is to avoid eating large meals up to 2 hours before practicing. Refuelling your body after class is a much better way to go. Water is a great liquid to have before, during and after class. We believe that prana (life force) stems from good coffee, but advise against consuming sugary or alcoholic drinks before practicing. We have a Kyn & Folk ceramic water filter in the foyer so you can fill up your reusable bottle in studio.

BUT I’M NOT FLEXIBLE… At Yoga Loft, we consider flexibility to be a state of mind, not a state of hamstrings. So come join a class with an open mind and we think you’ll surprise yourself.

We look forward to seeing you soon at the studio, and of course if you have any further questions, please feel free to be in touch via email: info@theyogaloft.com.au. Please let your teachers know of any past injuries and they will give you modifications if necessary. If you have any current medical conditions or serious injuries you may need your doctors approval to attend, feel free to contact us at info@theyogaloft.com.au with any questions.

I love this place, the inclusiveness, the quality and depth of experience of the teachers and the friendships I have made. With the added mix of cover teachers, visiting students from all walks of life and the diversity of yogis, I feel it breathes what yoga is about.
